Great Power Tower Workouts for 2018
For those of you who’ve invested in a Power Tower workouts machine during 2017, you’re in luck. You’ve no doubt already started putting your tower to use.
Dips, leg raises, pullups and chinups are some of the key exercises you can do with a pullup and dip station. But if you don’t program your workouts and get yourself off the couch, that pullup station’s going to sit there in the corner of the room like it did for me!
Read on for a few Workouts of the Day (WODs) to get you going.

Me and Bodyweight Training
This is a guest post By Samuel Kennedy
In most instances, a person’s training style is a reflection of their fitness goals. If you want to be big and strong, you probably focus on heavy barbells and low reps. If muscle definition is your endgame, you might do a lot of isolation exercises and cardio. And if you’re trying to be both lean and strong, you’ve probably found your way to bodyweight training.

Tonight’s Main Event: Calisthenics vs. Bodybuilding
By now it’s clear there is a growing community of people who are committed to training with only the weight of their own bodies, plus some minimal equipment like bars and perhaps kettle bells or dumbbells.
You may be part of that community.
There is also a strong belief among gym-goers that calisthenics do not give the same physical benefits that they get from pumping iron.
Here’s what I have to say.

With all that, it’s time for another edition of the Bodyweight Roundup! Let’s have a look at recent content on clean eating, bodyweight fitness and smart supplements:

Bodyweight Alternatives for the Deadlift
When you’re getting into bodyweight training, one of the things you’ll discover is that there is a bodyweight version of most of the core exercises performed with weights at the gym.
- Instead of bench presses, try pushups.
- Instead of seated military presses, try handstand pushups.
- Instead of weighted squats, try pistol squats.
One of the most effective weighted exercises is difficult to replicate with just bodyweight–the deadlift. But there are alternatives.
In this post, I’ll explain why the deadlift is such an awesome exercise, and cover some of the bodyweight exercises you can perform in its place.

Do You Need a Great Pullup Progression?
For some reason, among bodyweight exercises, the pull-up is often one that encourages fear. I can’t do a pull-up! I might hurt my shoulders. I can’t get myself off the ground! Guess what–a good pullup progression can help you past all those obstacles.
Excuses! Excuses, I tell ya.
